The beacon is located at the head of the bed (x = 0, y = 0), and the bed extends out in the +x direction. The thin, colored lines represent contours of Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) measured by the badge and decreasing in signal strength at fixed intervals moving away from beacon's location. The thick, black line represents the threshold configured as the patient zone boundary.
