(A) B19V genotype-specific viral loads was not significantly different between the malaria patient groups (median, 2.83 log10 IU/ml (range 1.65-4.83 IU/ml) vs 3.67 log10 IU/ml (range 1.76-4.11 IU/ml), P=ns (Mann–Whitney U test). (B) Prevalence of B19V genotypes 1 and 2 in mild and severe malaria patient groups. The prevalence of B19V-genotype 2 was significantly higher in severe malaria than in mild malaria (OR = 8.56 (CI95 [0.88-83.1], one-tailed Fisher’s exact test, P<0.05).
