A ratio defined by the result obtained when the ELISPOT counts per million PBMC for each antigen were divided by the corresponding total CD4+ T-cell count per mm3 was used to perform a receiver-operator characteristic analysis, using the group with active TB and the subjects without active disease as comparator groups. A) ROC curve for the response to RD1 selected peptides. A ratio higher than 0.21 predicted active TB with 100% sensitivity and 80% specificity. B) ROC curve for the response to RD1 intact proteins. A ratio higher than 0.22 predicted active TB with 89% sensitivity and 70% specificity.
